
Netflix, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and United Airlines Holdings quarterly reports
Netflix Inc. (NFLX) reported second-quarter earnings of $ 1.35 billion ($ 2.97 per share), up from $ 720 million ($ 1.59 per share) a year earlier. Revenue for the reporting period increased to $ 7.34 billion from $ 6.15 billion. Earnings were preliminary expected at the level of $ 3.15 per share on revenue of $ 6.1 billion. The operating income was $ 7.46 per share. Revenue for the reporting period increased to $ 1.89 billion from $ 1.36 billion. According to preliminary forecasts, earnings should have been $ 6.49 per share on revenue of $ 1.88 billion.
United Airlines Holdings Inc. (UAL) posted a net loss of $ 434 million in the last quarter, the sixth consecutive quarterly loss. At the same time, the operating loss amounted to $ 3.91 per share. Revenue for the period was $ 5.47 billion. United said it expects to see profit before tax in the third and fourth quarters.
