
Qualcomm announced deals with automakers and chips for Microsoft’s AR glasses
At CES 2022, Qualcomm (QCOM) announced partnerships with Renault, Volvo, and Honda and the development of chips to create AR glasses in collaboration with the giant Microsoft (MSFT).
Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 Qualcomm has announced several profitable deals with major automakers and Microsoft (MSFT) giants.
Qualcomm, known worldwide for its chips for mobile phones, is rapidly expanding in the 5G and IoT (“Internet of Things” “) chip markets, as well as launching Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit 3rd generation car platforms and other solutions for onboard car computers.

Later this year, Volvo plans to release cars with new Snapdragon Cockpit platforms.
Renault Group announced that it would use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform to equip future Renault models with the latest car solutions, such as connection to cloud services, driver assistance systems enhanced security features and other digital technologies capabilities that can updated throughout the life of the car.
At CES 2022, Qualcomm also announced a partnership with Microsoft. The company will develop custom AR chips for new energy-efficient and lightweight AR glasses while integrating Microsoft Mesh software and Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform.
The shares of technical equipment and software manufacturers for the new branch of the metaverse today are of increased interest among investors.
